MEDIA ACCESS & APPLICATION

 2026 Media Access and Guidelines:

Media access is intended for established outlets and partners that consistently cover motorsports and off road racing. Eligible applicants may include factory OEM race teams, series partners, television and radio outlets, newspapers and wire services, and recognized motorsports publications or websites with a track record of regular event coverage. All applications are reviewed in advance, and approvals may be issued under either Accredited Media or Commercial Media.

Freelance photographers and videographers are only eligible if they are working on assignment for an approved Accredited or Commercial outlet. Independent freelancers who are not on assignment are not eligible for credentials.

If you meet the criteria above, there are two credential types available:

  • Season Credentials - Reserved for approved media who plan to cover at least 6 events on the season schedule.

  • Single Event Wristbands- Reserved for approved media who plan to cover fewer than half of the season’s events.

All approved media are required to wear the series issued media vest at all times while operating in credentialed areas.

    1. Eligibility
Media credential applications must be submitted at least 15 days before the first event you plan to cover.

    2. Age Requirement
All media credential holders must be at least 18 years old.

    3. Series Access
Season credentials are valid at any official J Day Offroad event during the credentialed season.

    4. Proper Use
Media credentials are issued by J Day Offroad and are for authorized access only. Credentials must be worn and visible at all times during the event and may only be used by the individual whose name appears on the credential. Use of a credential confirms the holder has completed any required releases and understands the rules for restricted area access. Lending, transferring, duplicating, or misusing a credential is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate revocation.

    5. Replacement
If a credential is lost, stolen, or damaged, contact J Day Offroad immediately. Replacement may be issued at J Day’s discretion, and a replacement fee may apply depending on the situation.

  • Application Requirement
All interested applicants must complete and submit a media application for review by J Day Off Road. Every submission is reviewed and will be either approved or denied based on an internal evaluation.

    Application Information
Complete all required fields in the online application and submit for review. Please ensure all information is accurate. Email will be the primary method of communication for follow up questions, updates, and next steps.

    Assignment Letter
Applicants must provide an assignment letter that includes:
    • Type of coverage requested
    • Editor or supervisor name and contact information
    • Your planned coverage and deliverables for the season and or specific event(s)

If you are the editor or supervisor, outline the proposed coverage plan and list the individual(s) who will be credentialed under your outlet.

    Submission Deadline
Applications must be submitted at least 15 days prior to the first event you plan to cover.

    Approval and Denial
Credential decisions are made on a case by case basis at the sole discretion of J Day Off Road. J Day reserves the right to approve, deny, or revoke media access at any time for any reason, including but not limited to unsafe conduct, inappropriate behavior, or violation of event rules. Denied applications typically do not meet one or more eligibility requirements. All decisions are final.

    Required Releases
Approved applicants must complete and sign the J Day Off Road Release Waiver and Indemnity Agreement. A signed release is required before a credential can be issued.

    Credential Pick Up
Credentials and required media vests will be distributed at the Media Safety Meeting. The date and time will be provided closer to the event and sent directly to approved applicants.

    • Appropriate Attire
Media must be dressed in a professional, event appropriate manner at all times. Shirts and closed toe shoes are required. Media who are not dressed appropriately may be asked to correct the issue immediately or risk credential revocation.

    • Event Rules and Safety Compliance
All media must follow J Day Off Road event rules, safety procedures, and staff direction. If you are unsure about any rule, location, or access point, stop and ask a J Day staff member before continuing. Do not operate in restricted or hot areas unless you fully understand the rules and have been cleared to do so.

    • Event Information and Distribution
J Day distributes pre event information, post race recaps, and official results to approved media outlets on a regular basis. If you would like to be added to the distribution list, contact J Day Off Road. Official schedules, results, and season updates are also available on the J Day Off Road website.
